Program description
Our Bildungsurlaub program in Madrid is specially designed for active German workers who want to combine intensive Spanish learning with professional development. We offer two options: an intensive Spanish course 30 (20 intensive course classes and 10 Afternoon spanish course classes per week) and options to supplement the “Intensive 30 course” with individual lessons and conversation classes.
Both formats meet the requirements of Bildungsurlaub and are available for all levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (advanced). In addition, the program includes daily cultural activities to enrich the experience. Return to Germany with improved language skills, an official certificate, and a unique immersion in Spanish culture that will boost your personal and professional development.

Bildungsurlaub is a right that allows employees in certain German states to take up to 5 days of paid leave per year for professional training. During this period, the employee continues to receive their usual salary. It is possible to participate in courses lasting several weeks and count only part of them as Bildungsurlaub. In addition, the right can be transferred from one year to the next to complete a two-week course. The choice of course is up to the employee, provided that the training activity is officially recognized.

- Enrollment at AIL Madrid: Through the online form or by sending an email to bildungsurlaub@ailmadrid.com
- Notification to employer: Inform your employer in writing at least 10 weeks before the start of the course, attaching the enrollment confirmation from AIL Madrid. If a copy of the certificate of recognition for the educational license is required, AIL Madrid will provide it. You can also download it here.
- Attend the course: Attend the recognized course at AIL Madrid.
- Submission of the certificate of participation: Upon completion, submit the certificate of attendance to your employer.

Intensive Spanish Course 30 (Intensive 20 + Afternoon 10):
- Lessons per week: 30 group lessons (20 lessons in a morning group and 10 lessons in an afternoon group) + 3 cultural program sessions per week

- Duration: Flexible

- Certification: A certificate is issued at the end of the course.

Prices
Intensive Spanish course (30 hours):
- 1 week: €310 (course) + €60 (registration fee) = €370
- 2 weeks: €620 (course) + €60 (registration fee) = €680
The registration fee includes: a two-stage level test for correct group placement, a welcome with tapas and drinks in a typical Spanish restaurant, the first textbook and study materials, and a certificate at the end of the course.

Ich war mit einer Gruppe von Spanischschüler*innen für eine Woche zum Schulbeginn in Madrid. Die Betreuung durch AIL Madrid war ausgezeichnet. Neben den Unterrichtseinheiten am Vormittag gab es einige Nachmittagsaktivitäten (Stadtführung, Museumsbesuch) und viele Tipps für Unternehmungen auf eigene Faust. Die beiden Tanzstunden (Flamenco und Salsa) sind bei den Teilnehmer*innen besonders gut angekommen. Die Unterbringung bei den Gastfamilien hat bestens geklappt und alle Schüler*innen konnten die Schule auch zu Fuß gut erreichen. Eine klare Empfehlung für AIL Madrid 🙂
